All Saints Church

In addition to Sunday services, church members run the Advent Light Trail, organise the Village Carol Service and run a regular Big Breakfast where 100 villagers are treated to a café style event on their doorstep. The church hosts two Fish & Chip Quiz Nights a year, and participates in the Village Show. Volunteers also conduct a service each month at the Kings Bromley Nursing Home. All welcome.

Art Collective

Meetings take place Tuesday mornings 10:30am to 12:30pm

Cost £5 per meeting to include refreshments

Weekly meetings to work on our own projects. We create together and have developed a really open environment to share views and skills about art, life and laughing together.  It provides a space for attendees to create and even make a mess in a safe environment on a regular basis. Everybody is welcome.

Beavers

The Cubs is open to boys and girls, aged 8 to 10 years of age. We have three cub packs. Meetings are held weekly, during term time.  Two packs meet on a Monday from 6.15 pm to 7.45 pm, one at St Peters school, Yoxall and one at Kings Bromley village hall.  The third meets on a Thursday evening from 6.00pm to 7.30 pm at St Peters school, Yoxall. The Scouts is open to boys and girls, aged 10 to 14 years of age. We have three scout troops. Meetings are held weekly, during term time.  Two troops meet on a Tuesday 7.15 pm to 8.45 pm, one at St Peters school, Yoxall and one at Yoxall village hall.  The third meets on a Thursday evening from 7.45 pm to 9.15 pm at St Peters school, Yoxall. Bell Ringers

We are a small group of ringers, of all ages (11 plus) and all abilities. We ring for Sunday services and on practice night.

Practices take place at 7.30 pm on Thursdays. On the first and third Thursdays at Mavesyn Ridware, on the second and fourth Thursdays at Kings Bromley and on fifth Thursdays at Hoar Cross. For more information contact Andrew and Anne Ogden on 07970 389590.

 

Bowling Club

Meetings take place on social days – Tuesdays and Saturdays, and members arrange games to suit themselves. The Club holds social events each season. New members are welcome.

Full membership is £55 and social membership is £13

Choir

Rehearsals take place on Mondays at 8 – 9pm, we are open to ages 16 and above

Village Harmony Choir is a vibrant and inclusive community group who sing for fun and as part of village events. Open to all with no auditions or need to read music, the choir currently has approximately 25 members aged 25 to 85 from the village and surrounding areas, creating a supportive space where people can connect, build confidence and enjoy the many wellbeing benefits of singing.

Churchyard Team

This group of around 12 gentlemen, whose average age is 78, meet every Wednesday between 10.00 am and 12.15 pm, with a mid morning coffee break, at All Saints Church. The group meets every week, except Christmas and New Year, come rain orshine, and only very severe weather keeps them at home. Newcomers are always welcome, of any age, to do as much or as little as they choose. For details contact David Coglan via the Parish Clerk.

Creative Arts Partnership

Cricket Club

The Cricket Club has a pitch and club house down Crawley Lane, Kings Bromley.

Friends of the Allied Special Forces Memorial Grove

The Grove is funded and maintained by the Friends and gardening team and is constantly being improved with specific memorials to Allied Special Forces operations.

It is situated in the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas.

Gardening Guild

Meetings take place on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7.45pm – 10pm

£10.00 annually, guests £2 per evening, refreshments included

The Gardening Guild has a monthly meeting for members to share ideas, listen to speakers, visit places of interest and support local environmental and gardening initiatives. All welcome. The gardening guild also maintains some of the public areas around the village and enables the annual Open Gardens event.

Italian Classes for adults

Jazz Club

Kings Bromley Show Society

Kings Bromley Show is one of the longest running shows in Staffordshire and is organised by the Kings Bromley & District Horticultural Society.

The show takes places on the fourth Saturday in July each year, on the show field, Crawley Lane, Kings Bromley, and regularly attracts between 2000 and 2500 visitors.

The show provides a full day out for all the family from 9.30 to 5.00. Trade, craft, amusement, food and beverage stands. Dog Show, and lots else to see and do.

Competitive classes for: Art, Cookery, Crafts, Horticulture, Photography, Treasured Vehicles, Young Crafts and Woodworking. Visit the show website for full schedule of competitive classes, entertainments and admission charges.

Kings Bromley STOP HS2 Group

Kings Bromley Stop HS2 Action Group have recently joined with other local Action Groups to concentrate on Phase 2 of HS2 as well as continue the opposition to Phase 1. The new Joint Action Groups consist of Kings Bromley, The Ridwares and Colton. If anyone else would like to join us, there is always room for more and fresh ideas!

Ladies Club

The annual programme includes trips out, speakers and craft demonstrations.

Medical Transport

The service helps those in the village to get to any medical appointment, any distance all year round. Drivers live within the village and build up relationships with clients.

Clients make a voluntary donation dependent on mileage.

Needlework and Craft Group

Meetings take place 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, 1.30pm – 3.30pm

£5 per meeting, refreshments available.

A friendly group for anyone interested in craft or needlework, members bring their own projects or help make hats for babies at Derby Hospital. Anyone over 14 welcome.

Painting for Pleasure Art Group

A place for those that enjoy art to get together and work on their projects.

Ridware Young Farmers Club

Ridware YFC is a group of young persons aged between 14 and 26 from the surrounding area, who currently meet on Wednesday evenings.

There are opportunities to travel the work, learn new skills, build your confidence, work as part of a team and most importantly, make new friends and have lots of fun.

Remember – you don’t need to be a farmer, live on a farm, or even own a pair of wellies to join

 

Scouts

The Foresters Scout Group is open to boys and girls, aged 10 to 14 years of age. There are 2 Scout Troops, both meet at St Peters School in Yoxall. The first meets on a Tuesday 7.15pm – 8.45pm and the second one on a Thursday 7.45pm – 9.15pm.

Snooker Club

Open sessions are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Evenings. The club room is open at all other times to members to play (7 days per week)

The club is for members and their guests.

Members pay £80 per annum and £4 per hour for guests.

Theatre Group

This group of like minded people, make regular outings to theatres near and far to see plays, shows and productions of all types. Further details are available from Mrs M Weaver.

 

United Charities

Kings Bromley United Charity (Charity Number 1020119)

The Charity is an amalgamation of a number of bequests left in wills or gifts given in people’s lifetime over the years. The Charity’s main purpose now is to maintain three almshouses in Manor Road, Kings Bromley, and supports the residents of these houses.

Kings Bromley Village Hall plays an essential role within our community and is an important venue for village events. We have a main hall (8m x 8m) with doors onto the garden/play area, a separate lobby and commercial kitchen. Upstairs we have a smaller meeting room that can accommodate 15 people. Hire charges for both rooms can be found on our booking form.

Wednesday Club

Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month and include speakers, meals our and outings for our older residents.

We charge £10 a year and £2 entrance fee in the village hall to include refreshments.

 

Bowling Green Whist Club

Meetings take place on Tuesday, charge £2.50, refreshments are available.

Social event held from 1st October to the end of March. The whist is a valuable community activity enjoyed by all who attend.
