Dear Resident,
CX053 – Notification of carriageway reconstruction works on the A513 Lichfield
Road, Kings Bromley
As part of the Council’s ongoing investment into its roads in Staffordshire, Amey Services
Ltd working with Staffordshire County Council, will shortly begin carrying out works
along the A515 Lichfield Road, (from Cherry Lodge to the junction of the A513 Alrewas
Road) and a section of carriageway surfacing at the junction of Crawley Lane. Works will
include the removal of the existing carriageway surface and replacing it with a new
surface (and associated preparatory works known as ‘civil works’), alongside kerbing
replacement, tactile crossing replacement, and renewal of ironwork.
Beginning on Monday 20 October 2025, we’ll begin the first phase of the scheme,
where we’ll start the civil works.
These initial works will be carried out under temporary traffic signals during the daytime
between the hours of 7.30am and 7.00pm. Temporary traffic signals may need to
remain in place over night to guard open excavations and to allow for material curing
times.
The civil works are due to be completed on Friday 24 October 2025.
From Monday 27 October to Thursday 30 October 2025 between the hours of 7am
to 7pm daytime road closures will be in place, where we will begin our carriageway
reconstruction works. This will include, utility survey works, the removal of the existing
carriageway surface and replacing it with a new surface, along with the replacement of
new road markings. Due to the size and scale of construction machines being used and
to ensure the safety of the general public and workforce, it will be necessary to close the
A515 Lichfield Road after the junction of Bradbury Lane to the junction of the A513
Alrewas Road.
Designated personnel will be positioned at either end of the road closure points to offer
advice and assist with access to residential properties and business access within the
closure points. Please speak to the site team, so that we can help with any specific needs
or requirements you may have during this works.
A signed diversion route will be in place during the road closures.
Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journeys.
Continued overleaf….
Emergency services will be given access through the road closures when safe
to do so.
Pedestrian access along the length of the works will be maintained throughout.
We recognise that there is never a good time to undertake road works, however we have
planned to undertake the road closures during the school holidays. This will help to
minimise disruption to the local area, in particular when traffic volumes are reduced,
enabling the works to be completed as soon as possible. Please allow extra time for your
journeys and, where possible, please use alternative routes to avoid delays. Please do
not ignore road closure signage.
Unfortunately, with any major highway works, some disturbance is unavoidable, and
there may be short delays even on the approaches to the closure points. We must ask
that you drive carefully and slowly through any sections of live roadworks for both the
workforces and your own safety.
During the road closure period, waste and recycling collections will remain the same, on
their normal collection days.
Please note that all dates are subject to change due to operational requirements and
weather conditions. Weekend working may be used where necessary.
The works may at times be noisy, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience or
disturbance caused. We’ll do our best to complete the work as quickly and safely as
possible. We like to thank you for your patience during this works.
