A38 closure

Please note that the A38 will be closed in both directions between Swinfen Interchange and Hilliard’s Cross from 9pm Friday 27 March 2026 to 5am Wednesday 8 April 2026.

A full diversion route is in place via Wood End Lane.

The Streethay northbound on slip will remain closed until October 2026.

This closure is to complete work to build the Rykneld St bridge that will allow the HS2 railway to pass under the existing A38 carriageway.
